境内にはご神水があり、開運出世の水として新生児誕生のときの産湯として有名です。

若一神社（にゃくいちじんじゃ）のご神水

ご神水の横に祇王（ぎおう）の句碑がありました。
祇王といえば清盛から寵愛された白拍子（平安時代末から鎌倉時代にかけて男装して歌舞を披露した遊女）、後に清盛の寵愛が同じく白拍子の仏御前に移ったために清盛のもとを離れ出家。※奥嵯峨にある祇王寺には妹の祇女と姉妹の母である刀自、そして、祇王の後を追って出家した仏御前の木像が安置されてます。

神社の西側には樹齢800年以上と言われる楠の御神木があります。清盛公が太政大臣に任ぜられた事を感謝し、お手植えされたと伝わり、御神木を避けて西大路通りが曲がって建設されてます。昔からあるもの、目に見えないものを大事に守ってきたのも京都の素敵なところです。

「今は楠の花が咲いていて、良い香りがしてますよ。」と訪れた際に、に宮司さんから声をかけられました。人の多い観光スポットだとなかなかこういった機会はありませんが、これも穴場観光地の魅力ですね。

大きな木の下に、小さな黄緑の花がたくさん落ちていました。

若一神社の住所は下京区七条御所ノ内本町となっており、京都御所から大分南西に位置してますが、平安時代に西八条院が置かれていたとも、第80天皇で清盛の娘・徳子が中宮として入内した高倉天皇の御所があったとか、西八条殿が西八条御所と呼ばれていた等の説があります。

Speaking of a king, the white applause (from the end of the Heian period to the Kamakura era) was a white applause, admired by Kiyomori (a prostitute who performed as a mascot and presented kabuki). * A wooden statue of Buddha in front of the King of the Buddha is enshrined in the Temple of the Lord of the Temple at the Temple of the Lord at the end of the temple.

When I visited, “The camphor tree is blooming now and it has a good smell,” chief priest said me. If it is a tourist attraction with many people, there is no such opportunity, but this is also the attraction of a tourist spot.

Under the big tree, a lot of small yellowish green flowers fell.

It is located in Oita southwest from Kyoto Imperial Palace, but even if Nishi Hachiyoin was placed during Heian period, the daughter of Kiyomori in the 80th Emperor・ There is a theory such as that there was a palace of Emperor Takakura that Tokuko entered as Chugu, and Nishi Hachijo-den was called Nishi Hachijo Imperial Palace.

■若一神社までのアクセス
・四条烏丸から(13番バス) → 四条烏丸の交差点、南西のバス停から13番のバスに乗る。四条烏丸から20分ほどで西大路八条のバス停で下車。そこから目の前、徒歩1分(50m)です。
・京都駅から(208番バス) → 京都駅北口バスターミナルのB3乗り場から208番のバスに乗る。京都駅から20分ほどで西大路八条のバス停で下車。そこから目の前、徒歩1分(50m)です。

■Access to Nyakuichi Jinjya(Nyakuichi shrine)
・From Shijo-karasuma(Bus no.13) → Shijo-karasuma intersection and the southwest bus stop, and Take the No.13 bus.
Get off at Nishioji-Hachijyo bus stop in about 20 minutes from Shijo-karasuma. From there it’s 1 minutes(50m) by walk.

・From Kyoto station → Take bus No.208 from B3 bus stop at Kyoto Station North Exit Bus Terminal
Get off at Nishioji-Hachijyo bus stop in about 20 minutes from Shijo-karasuma. From there it’s 1 minutes(50m) by walk.
