Heian Jingu Shrine’s Shinen and Miyako-messe

This is the day when Heian Jingu Shrine will be released for free. By the way, the usual adult rate is 600 yen. Even so, it is rainy today.

Sinen is composed of south, west, central and east.

As soon as you enter, there is a southern shrine. In 1895 (Meiji 28), since Heian Jingu Shrine was founded, it has been popular as a famous spot for Cerasus spachiana Lavalee ex H.Otto f. spachiana ‘Plena Rosea’.
In 1981 (Showa 56), we planted plants and plants that appear in Heian period literary books such as the Tale of Genji and the Kokin Wakashu, and made it a garden “Heian no Uta”, a garden that exudes dynasty culture.

I can see the white tiger pond of West-Shinen. The flowers were in a flock and in bloom. Here, there are 200 kinds and 2000 stocks of ancient Japanese flower buds.

The Oryu Pond is located in Central-Shinen, which was created at the time of foundation. The stepping stone is called Garyu Bridge, and it is said that it uses the old piers of Sanjo and Gojo Ohashi Bridges of Tensho (1573-1593).

The last is East-Shinen. The Taiheikaku relocated from Kyoto Imperial Palace shows a graceful figure. Tsurushima and Kamejima were arranged in the large Seiho-ike, and various flowers and trees were planted around the pond.

Heian Jingu Shrine is said to have been built over the past 20 years by the seventh generation Ogawa Jihe (1860-1933), drawing water from Lake Biwa to a view of Higashiyama, and its area is 10000 tsubo (33000 m2) There is. It’s been a while, but it’s hard to maintain this huge garden! I thought.

A splendid red pine was planted near the exit. By the way, October 22nd, 2019, it will be Saturday, October 26th, in order to honor the throne of Emperor Reiwa.

Going southwest of Heian Jingu Shrine, you can see the annex of the Kyoto City Museum of Art. It was a cold, heavy rain and I was just attracted to it for free.
The 58th Japan Contemporary Art Exhibition was held, and I was able to see different worlds, although I have no connection with art on a daily basis.

The opposite building was the Tsutaya Bookstore and Starbucks. We rented bicycles near the entrance of Tsutaya bookstore. It’s just good to take a break.

If you go further south, you will find Miyako-Messe. There is a contact hall on the first basement floor, where many of Kyoto’s traditional crafts are exhibited. It’s also free and perfect for rainy day dating courses. There were more shops than before. I was a little intrigued by the smash of crafts without a break, but I didn’t think there was a chance to use it. A school trip student had an experience of Yuzen dyeing in the room in the shop.

Walk further and cross the east main road, and there is a temple called Cyomyo-ji in front of Kawabata. This is a nostalgic place I played with my children when I was a nursing student. It’s about 45 years ago from now. I knew for the first time that there were 55 places in the area.
